YES on AB 2775: Top Spa Supply Stands With Spa and Salon Owners

As you may know, Assembly Bill 2775 will require product manufacturers to provide a complete list of ingredients on professional salon product labels.

The Professional Beauty Association, the largest trade organization in our industry, is urging those in the spa and salon business to support this bill (see link below) -- and we agree with them. AB 2775 will empower spas and salons to know exactly what’s in the products that they are using on a daily basis. This understanding of the chemical composition of the items used on clients is good for clients, because they will know precisely what is in the treatments they receive; and it’s good for salon owners, because they can have total control over what types of products they want to allow in their facility.

Requiring a detailed list of ingredients right on the product label will incentivize good faith practices by product manufacturers, who will understand that sacrificing safety or using lower quality ingredients is a net loss for everyone involved in our industry.
